The 9th Judgment from the author.

Supporting Argument #1: Ending up in situations you haven't planned for.

Evidence from Text: At the start of the story the cat burglar is caught in a rock and a hard place when she is trying to steal from a very rich movie star. She had planned her time accordingly and was going to make it out in time until she came across a very beautiful set of jewelry that she was awwing over instead of taking and running. This ended up being the cause of the death of the rich stars wife.

Supporting Argument #2: Life finds ways to help out the people that are stuck in tough times.

Evidence from Text: In the end of the story we find out that the cat burglar was a school teacher in an unhappy marriage that had fallen in love with a colleague of hers that was too in an unhappy marriage. Her colleagues husband ended up being the serial killer that detective Boxer was tracking down, which in the end helped them run away together as they didn't have that part of the marriage problems in the way anymore.

Supporting Argument #3: You can't always get an easy way out.

Evidence from Text: The rich star was in a very unhappy marriage that he wanted out of but knew that divorce was going to be a very expensive adventure for him, so when he was the chance to kill his wife and blame it on someone else he took it, thus taking the easy way out. Now taking this easy way out ended up back firing on him as he is caught in the end, but it just goes to show that when you take shortcuts, sometimes there are more roadblocks in the way.

After reading this book I have had my eyes opened to the idea that for every choice you make, something will come because of it, and the only way to control what things happen in the future is by making the correct choices now,
